ON Hickman and the new x-stuff

I love the x-men but...

Marvel has mishandled them for a long time now.

So while I’m glad other folks are happy about them getting some prominence with Hickman as writer but I just can’t be one of them.

I don’t care for HIckman’s work at all. At best his most celebrated stuff only reads as Okay to me and his last attempt at epic story telling was IMO absolutely appalling.

The scans I’ve seen only reinforce that to me that what we are going to get is another high concept mess that falls apart if you think about it too hard.

Though on the other hand I don’t think Hickman can do much worse than we’ve had for the last few years but who knows.
